An alarming drop in demand for smartphones and computers, experts worry
Washington: Rising inflation and the slowdown in the Chinese economy have hit smartphone and computer sales hard.
According to a study by US based research firm , China's slowing economy and rising inflation are dampening consumer purchasing power, leading to a decline in global shipments of computers and smartphones this year.
The study found that China is the world's largest smartphone market, from which smartphones are shipped around the world. Activities have declined, which has led to a 18 percent drop in demand.
The study said that shipments of smartphones worldwide are expected to decline by up to 7%, with the possibility of further declines due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Analysts say the decline in demand for smartphones and computers is driven by a number of factors, including geopolitics, rising inflation, currency fluctuations around the world and disruptions in the supply chain system. Is affecting shipments worldwide, and by the end of this year, computer shipments worldwide alone are expected to fall by 9.5 percent.
