All public photos in Instagram can now be used for Reels
If your account is public on Instagram, pretty soon all
users will be able to remix your photos.
Instagram has announced that it is rolling out a feature to
remix public photos into reels in the coming weeks.
This feature aims to provide users with more content for
Reels. This change in Instagram is aimed at gaining the attention
of users compared to rival app TikTok.
This remixing feature will be enabled by default, but users
can turn it off.
A Meta spokesperson said that images posted prior to the
introduction of the feature will not be able to be used, but users will be able
to enable the option for individual posts.
Instagram did the same in January 2022 when it introduced
the feature of remixing public videos.
This feature is likely to be disliked by
photographers as the copyrights of their images may be affected.
